Nia Moore, a proud native of Clinton, Mississippi, recently graduated with honors from Chamberlain University College of Nursing. Her commencement ceremony took place on September 27 at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center at Northern Virginia Community College's Annandale Campus. Surrounded by friends and family from Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida, Nia celebrated this significant milestone in her journey toward becoming a healthcare professional.
A Strong Academic Foundation
Nia’s educational journey has been nothing short of impressive. Before attending Chamberlain University, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. With a GPA of 3.7, her time at Howard laid a strong foundation for her success in nursing and clinical research.
As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nia embodies the values of leadership and community service. During her college years, she served her community in numerous ways, from mentoring through the Capital Youth Empowerment Program to tutoring children with Reading Partners, reflecting her passion for both healthcare and education.

Celebrating the Achievement
To honor this significant milestone, Nia meticulously planned a fun-filled weekend for her loved ones in Washington, DC. Demonstrating her leadership skills, she organized every detail to ensure her friends and family enjoyed an unforgettable experience.
The festivities began on Thursday with a joyful happy hour at El Techo, followed by her commencement ceremony on Friday, which was celebrated with a dinner at Matchbox Pentagon City. On Saturday, Nia’s guests toured iconic landmarks, including the White House, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. The weekend’s highlight was an all-white and silver-themed graduation party in Alexandria, Virginia. The celebration concluded with a final brunch on Sunday before everyone returned home.
An Exciting Announcement
During her graduation celebration, Nia had an exciting announcement for her loved ones: she had passed the NCLEX, the national nursing exam, making her officially a registered nurse in the nation's capital. “I wanted to wait until I could tell everyone in person, and this is the perfect moment,” she shared with emotion. Her family and friends erupted in cheers and applause, marking another significant achievement in her career.
A Promising Nursing Career
Currently, Nia serves as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Children's National Hospital, specifically with the IMPACT DC Asthma Clinic. In this role, she is involved in planning, conducting, and managing multiple studies aimed at improving outcomes for children with poorly controlled asthma. Her work focuses on reducing emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and missed school days—demonstrating her dedication to making a tangible difference in children's health.
Nia plans to join the nursing team at Children's National Hospital, where she already contributes significantly. Her journey from a passionate student of biology to a healthcare professional committed to patient care and research is an inspiration to all who know her. “Being able to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families is the reason I pursued nursing in the first place,” Nia said.

A Leader in Every Sense
From her academic achievements at Howard University to her impactful work at Children’s National Hospital, Nia Moore represents the future of healthcare leadership. Her organizational skills, demonstrated through her thoughtful planning of the graduation celebration, reflect her ability to coordinate complex research studies addressing critical health issues. As her family and friends gathered to celebrate her accomplishments, they also celebrated a young woman whose career is marked by compassion, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to helping others.
Nia’s parents, Stephanie Stiff and Kwame Moore, along with her brother Kolby, couldn't be prouder. As she embarks on the next phase of her career, Nia remains an inspiration—a reminder of what is possible through perseverance, hard work, and a desire to serve others. Now officially a registered nurse, Nia Moore is ready to make an even greater impact on the health and well-being of the community she serves.
